Girls Entering Grades 1 – 3 in fall 2024
Forest Friends is a short three-day, two-night camp designed especially for younger girls. This year’s focus is on ecology as campers become Guardians of the forest. We will explore some of the amazing features of the forest by exploring fungi, looking for signs of life, food chains and the impact of trash on nature. Campers will earn their Eco Friend Badge as they are introduced to Leave No Trace principles and campfire safety.
Girls will also enjoy traditional camp activities like the climbing wall, campfire programs, the monkey bridge, and short hikes.
Accommodations are in cabins equipped with bunks. All food is prepared and served in the main lodge. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the toilet block.
In addition to adult volunteers, a dedicated group of older girls, counselors in training, will be assigned to each patrol. These older girls are excellent role models for young campers while helping them “learn the ropes”.
