Forest Friends Camp

Forest Friends Camp

Forest Friends is a short three-day, two-night camp designed especially for younger girls. This year’s camp will take place at Howland Hill Outdoor School, located just outside Crescent City. We expect to be back at our usual Wolf Creek home in 2027. Girls will sleep in cabins on sleeping platforms, meals will be served outside in the dining shelter. There are flush toilets but no showers.

The focus for this camp is on ecology as campers investigate the world of bugs. We will explore some of the amazing features of bugs such as their eyes, camouflage, role in nature and their importance to the food chain . Campers will earn the Bugs Badge as they try their hand at looking for bugs where they live, drawing bugs and various bug crafts.

Girls will also enjoy traditional camp activities like the climbing wall, campfire programs, and short hikes.

Accommodations are in cabins equipped with sleeping platforms. All food is prepared in the camp kitchen. Flush toilets are available in the toilet block.

In addition to adult volunteers, a dedicated group of older girls, counselors in training, will be assigned to each patrol. These older girls are excellent role models for young campers while helping them “learn the ropes”.
