SUMMARY:Wilderness & Remote First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Wilderness & Remote First Aid certification is required for any Girl Scout activity taking place in a location where m Emergency Medical Service is more than 30 minutes away. The course provides the knowledge to provide appropriate first aid care when help is delayed. \nThis course meets both Girl Scout and BSA requirements and results in a two year certification. \nGirl Scout Volunteers and Scouts (must be at least 14 years)  $45 \nBSA Volunteers and Scouts (must be at least 14 years) $70 \nHours 8:30 to 5:30 each day. DESCRIPTION:You must be in 7th grade or above to take this training \nSat Jan 20 – 10:00am – 4:00pm (Part 1) – Morris School\, Mckinleyville\n \nSun Jan 21 – 10:00am – 3:00pm (Part 2) – Morris School\, Mckinleyville\n \nYou must attend BOTH days. There is no cost  \nYou will discover ways to work with younger girls\, organize activities\, and lead songs and games. Learn some of the characteristics of younger children\, how to deal with behavior issues\, and disabilities. \nThis is also a first step to developing the skills you will need to become a counselor in training (CIT) at camps (like Camp Tall Trees) or a volunteer in training (VIT) working with other troops.  Completion of this training allows you to work toward earning your Program Aide Pin. There is no cost for this training. \n
