SUMMARY:YOUR VOICE\, YOUR WORLD JOURNEY
DESCRIPTION:8th Grade and up. \nStarts at Dows Praire Grange at 9:00am \nPick up at Cal Poly Humboldt 4:30pm \nLearn how advocacy can help make the changes you want happen. Together we will process\, through the lens of human rights\, the insights we gain from the simulation. \nFinally\, you will be asked for your input on the formation of a Humboldt Teen Human Rights Commission. How should it be formed\, how should it operate\, how would the teen commissioners be appointed\, what issues would likely engage a teen commission\, how would issues be selected? Be part of the process!! \nGIRL SCOUTS ONLY: We will begin the day at 9:00am at Dow’s Prairie Grange where we will serve breakfast and set the stage for you to satisfy most of the requirements for the Journey Award . To complete the Journey\, you will need to select your passion\, make a plan to advocate for a solution and make the pitch. These steps can be completed on your own\, in your troop or in partnership with other like minded participants.
