Camp will be held just over the Oregon border at Flumet Flat Group Campground. This will be the third time that Flumet Flat has hosted Camp Tall Trees. Under the Stars is a seven day and six night camp which gives campers a true outdoor camping experience which caters to both new campers and experienced campers.
Girls will be assigned to a patrol of 5 to 6 campers. Each patrol will have their own campsite, tents, cooking gear and stove. Food is stored centrally and is handed out prior to each meal. Assisted as needed by older experienced CITs (Counselors in Training) girls will cook their own meals. Patrols will also have the opportunity to dream up their own meal and shop for the ingredients.
Flumet Flat is a four hour drive, without stopping, from Eureka. Transportation to and back to camp is available on a limited first come first served basis. With transportation the cost for camp is $395. If you chose to transport your camper the cost is $345.
Planned activities include:
- Spelunking (caving)
- Stargazing and Astronomy
- Earning the Sky Badge
- Archery
- Camp Crafts
- Outdoor Cooking
- Creek Hike
- Axe throwing
- Exploring old Surface Gold Mining workings
- Paper making

Flumet Flat, McKee Bridge, OR
Located in southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley, Flumet Flat is an exceptionally large group campsite behind a locked gate. Within Flumet Flat, there are 23 family sized individual campsites each with its own camp table and fire ring. It is a relatively primitive site without flush toilets, showers or running water. We will use vault toilets and “porta potties”.
June temperatures will likely be in the 80’s to mid 90’s which makes the adjacent Applegate river a great place to relax.
This is the same location used for Camp Tall Trees Under the Stars in 2021 and 2022 when COVID dictated that we camp out in the open air.
